Consider and take action on a resolution scheduling a Public Hearing on October 22, 2024 to consider adoption of Capital Recovery Fees for Roadway Facilities; directing the City Secretary to publish notice of said public hearing and directing the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee to consider and make a recommendation on the Capital Recovery Fee Report (Executive Director of Development Services)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the City Secretary to publish Notice of a Public Hearing to consider adoption of Capital Recovery Fees for Roadway Facilities and direct the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee (CIAC) to consider and make recommendations on the Capital Recovery Fee Report.
As outlined in Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code, a City wishing to consider the adoption of impact fees, must schedule a Public Hearing within 60 days of approving this resolution. Staff wishes to hold this public hearing on October 22, 2024 as part of the scheduled City Council session. A Public Notice for this Hearing would need to be published no later than September 20, 2024.
The Roadway Capital Recovery Fee ties to the City’s Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor #1 (Develop and Maintain our Infrastructure), Initiative #1 (Develop and Maintain our Infrastructure), sub-items #D, E, H, and K.
