Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Oller Engineering, Inc. for design, bid, and construction phase services related to the Smith Lane Sidewalk (RE1901A) in an amount not to exceed $141,914 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a professional services agreement with Oller Engineering, Inc. to perform design, bid, and construction phase services related to the Smith Lane Sidewalk (RE1901A) in an amount not to exceed $141,914.
Project scope includes the design of approximately 2,160 feet of 5-foot sidewalk from Webster St to Abilene St. This new sidewalk will connect, on south end, to an existing sidewalk located on west end of the CCISD’s League City Intermediate School. It will also tie-in to a recently placed sidewalk, as part of a development, that extends it to FM 270. See Attachment 3 for a conceptual layout of the project. Project will require acquisition of estimated four (4) sidewalk easements. This project will provide pedestrian accessibility in the area as well as a safer route to school for students.
Oller Engineering, Inc. has submitted a proposal to perform design, bid, and construction phase services for the project, including the following major task categories and budgets:
Major Tasks:
Basic Services $98,450
Special Services $33,464
As-Needed Additional Services (Budget) $10,000
Total Fees $141,914
The design is proposed to be completed within 155 days, excluding City review and approval periods and the acquisition of easements, followed by bid and construction phases.
Current conceptual construction estimate based on proposed scope is $325,000 plus land/easement acquisition costs. Construction cost will be updated throughout the design phase.
