Background:
Approval of this item will amend Chapter 125, Article 8, entitled, "Signs".
Project Timeline:
April 7, 2025 - The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing and recommended approval, 5-0-0.
April 22, 2025 - The City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing and hear the proposed ordinance on first reading.
The proposed ordinance amendment seeks to exempt specific signs from sign regulations and the requirement for a permit. If approved, signs placed on buildings, walls, or fences facing either the interior or exterior of athletic stadiums, courts, or fields owned or operated by governmental entities would no longer be subject to the sign ordinance or require a sign permit.
