Consider and take action on an appointment to the Civil Service Commission (City Manager)
Background:
If approved, this item will confirm the reappointment of David Madden to Position 3 on the Civil Service Commission. Mr. Madden was first appointed in June 2022, filling an unexpired term ending December 31, 2022. In December 2022 he was reappointed to a three year term ending 12/31/2025. This will be David Madden's second term which will be from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.

Per Section 143.006 of Texas Local Government Code - The commission consists of three members appointed by the municipality's chief executive and confirmed by the governing body of the municipality. Members serve staggered three-year terms with the term of one member expiring each year.
Texas Local Government Code requires a person appointed to the commission to be of good moral character; a United States citizen; a resident of the municipality for more than three years; over 25 years of age; and not have held a public office within the preceding three years.
