Consider and take action on a resolution approving the appointment of a board member to represent Mainland Medical Center on the Galveston County United Board of Health with a term of office to expire April 30, 2018 (City Secretary)
Background:
The United Board of Health is a thirteen (13) member board whose members are nominated by the Galveston County Commissioners' Court and approved by a majority of member local governments. Board members serve two (2) year terms, after which they are renewed or replaced.
The member representing Mainland Medical Center has resigned creating a vacancy on the board. The Galveston County Commissioners' Court has nominated the following member for appointment to the position with a term expiring April 30, 2018:
