Background:
Approval of this item will designate Rebecca Underhill as the authorized official for a grant administered by the office of the Governor of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, for 3d Leica scanner equipment.
On March 8, 2016, the City Council approved a grant application to the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of Governor of Texas for scanner equipment. Since that time, the grant administrators have requested that the City provide a resolution that specifically identifies the name and title of the city official who has the authority to apply for, reject, alter or terminate the grant.
The City Manager has been designated as the authorized official for these grants in the past and has administratively delegated that responsibility to the Finance Director. The State is now requiring that this administrative delegation be formalized by City Council resolution.
