Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $744,972.55 to Texas New Mexico Power for the removal and relocation of overhead power lines on Park Avenue from East Main Street to East Walker Street as part of the Downtown Revitalization Project (ED1503) (Deputy City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize staff to compensate Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP) for removing the overhead power lines on Park Avenue from East Main Street to East Walker Street. This is the first of at least two proposals for TNMP. Additional agreements will be required with Frontier Communications, Comcast and other fiber providers.
The scope of work includes material and labor for removal of approximately 1,400 feet of three phase overhead distribution facilities, including twenty-two wood poles and thirteen pole mounted transformers; reconductor of approximately 5,000 feet of three phase overhead distribution facilities; installation of approximately 6,500 feet of three phase underground distribution facilities, and six pad-mounted transformers and five pull vaults.
