Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing change order no. 1 with CSA Construction. Inc. for the Calder Road Booster Pump Station and Well Project (WT1205) for various changes in the scope of work in amount not to exceed $319,931 (Public Works Director)

Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize change order no. 1 in an amount not to exceed $319,931 for the construction of the Calder Road Booster Pump Station and Well Project.

On March, 25, 2014, City Council awarded the construction contract for the Calder Road Booster Pump Station and Well Project to CSA Construction Inc. in the amount of $12,213,750, and authorized a work change directive budget of $610,688. The work change directive budget is to be used for minor work changes and change orders that will adjust the contract price and contract time to reflect conditions that unexpectedly arise as a result of the actual construction development of the project.

Change order no. 1 represents an increase to the contract in the amount of $319,931. The individual change order items are as follows:

1. Work Change Directive No. 1 - Increase well production 25% production through increasing the size of the motor, bowl assembly and pump depth. (increase amount of $26,161)
2. Work Change Directive No. 2 - This WCD represents modifications to the Bay Gas Facilities to mitigate displacements caused by the City’s acquisition of land for the improvements to the Calder Road Booster Pump Station (addition of $47,226), and; the deletion of the Alternative Work Item for temporary disinfection equipment and electrical work for the earlier use of the water well (deduction of $37,880).
