Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn for the League City Parkway and Brittany Lakes Drive/Fennigan Lane Traffic System Improvement Project (TR1101A) in an amount not to exceed $128,000 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn to perform, or have sub-consultants perform, engineering design services associated with the League City Parkway and Brittney Lakes Drive/Fennigan Lane Traffic System Improvement Project (TR1101A) in an amount not to exceed $128,000.
In general, the scope of this project will consist of the addition of left turn lanes on League City Parkway, the addition of a traffic signal at the League City Parkway and Brittany Lakes Dr./Fennigan Lane intersection, and either the extension of drainage culverts within the median of League City Parkway or the installation of structural barrier walls along the existing drainage channel within the median of League City Parkway.
The purpose of this project is to install a new traffic signal to reduce traffic delay at this intersection and support future growth of traffic in the area.
Kimley-Horn tasks and fees are outlined as follows:
Surveying Services:
Topographic Surveying: $ 15,300.00
Design Services:
Public Meetings & Concept Drawings: $ 12,800.00
Geotechnical Investigation: $ 4,900.00
Traffic Signal & Turn Lanes & Minor Roadway Plans: $ 57,000.00
Design Services (Design Option - only 1 option will be used)
Option #1: Design of Drainage Culvert Extensions $ 20,000.00
Option #2: Design of Structural Barrier Wall $ 25,000.00
Bidding Services:
Bid Phase Services: $ 5,000.00
Construction Services:
Construction Administration & Record Drawings $ 8,000.00
Total, Not to Exceed Fee: $ 128,000.00
