Consider and take action on appointment of a Primary Member and an Alternate to the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Technical Advisory Committee for the remaining term and for the year 2017 (Mayor Hallisey)
Background:
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) reviews and evaluates H-GAC's regional transportation plans and provides its recommendations to the Transportation Policy Council (TPC). The TAC is an appointed body, which is comprised of representatives of member governments and special citizen interest groups with expertise in transportation planning. TAC members are appointed by the TPC to assist with the coordination of the Transportation Improvement Program, Metropolitan Transportation Plan and other transportation planning activities.
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a fiscally constrained financial plan of transportation projects approved to receive federal funding over the next four-years. Projects selected for the TIP are priorities for the region in all surface transportation areas including transit, roadway and highways, bicycle and pedestrian, preventative maintenance, rehabilitation and transportation operations.
The Mayor's recommendations are:
Primary Member - Susan Oyler, Engineering Project Manager
Alternate Member - Bo Bass, Assistant City Manager, Administration
This appointment will replace previous Primary Member Gabriel Menendez and Alternate John Baumgartner.
