Title

Consider and take action on a resolution making a nomination for election to the Board of Directors of the Harris County Appraisal District for 2018-2019 (Mayor Hallisey)

Background:

As a taxing unit in the Harris County Appraisal District, the City is entitled to nominate an individual for election to the appraisal district’s board of directors. Nominations must be made via written resolution that includes the nominees’ name, and must be delivered to HCAD’s chief appraiser by October 15, 2017. Nominees will be placed on a ballot distributed to HCAD taxing units, who will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates to serve two-year terms on the HCAD Board of Directors beginning January 1, 2018.

The current representative for suburban cities is Ed Heathcott, who has served as a board member for ten years, but is not seeking reappointment
