Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Binkley & Barfield, Inc. for the Westover Park Lift Station and Force Main Improvement Project (WW1801B) in an amount not to exceed $159,421 (Director of Engineering)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a professional services agreement with Binkley & Barfield, Inc. to perform, or have sub-consultants perform, engineering design services associated with the Westover Park Lift Station and Force Main Improvement Project (WW1801B) in an amount not to exceed $159,421.
In general, the scope of this project will cover the engineering and construction phase services for diverting the existing Countryside Lift Station force main wastewater flow to the Westover Park Lift Station, and upgrade the existing Westover Park Lift Station with new pumps and electrical equipment, and a new 14” force main from the Westover Park Lift Station to the existing force main on Maple Leaf Drive.
The purpose of this project is to upgrade the Westover Park Lift Station service capacity to accommodate the Countryside Lift Station diversion flow and future wastewater services from the Westwood Development. Upgrades associated with the Westwood Development will be reimbursed to the City by a Development Agreement that is currently being worked on and will be submitted for approval at a later date.
Binkley & Barfield, Inc. tasks and fees are outlined as follows:
Engineering Design $101,977.00
Project Management (Meetings and Permitting) $ 8,062.00
Bid Phase Services $ 4,320.00
Construction Phase Services (Hourly) $ 32,514.00
Reimbursable Expenses $ 750.00
Sub-Contract for Surveying Services $ 8,058.00
Sub-Contract for Geotechnical Investigation $ 3,740.00
Total, Not to Exceed Fee: $159,421.00
