Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a construction agreement with SOLitude Lake Management, LLC for the GENCO Canal Aeration & Vegetation Management project, in an amount not exceed $144,285 (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of the construction agreement to SOLitude Lake Management, LLC for construction of the GENCO Canal Aeration & Vegetation Management project (DR1302).
This project is to provide for management of algae growth and invasive species (water hyacinth) that seasonally occur in the GENCO canal. The seasonal growth and death of the algae and water hyacinth create undesirable noxious odors. This project will kill, remove, and dispose water hyacinth from the GENCO canal along with the installation of 2 sub-surface aeration systems to help prevent the return of the water hyacinth in the future.
Separate sealed requests for proposals for the project were received on August 22, 2017 (RFP No. 17-054) with a singular proposal received. The proposal was opened on August 22, 2017 and examined for completeness. Subsequently, the technical proposal was evaluated, and the results posted on CIVCAST. The City’s engineering consultants recommendation of award is attached.
Staff requests approval to award the construction contract and the authorization of funds, as follows:
1. Construction contract with SOLitude Lake Management, LLC in an amount not to exceed $144,285.
