Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the replacement of seven (7) pieces of fleet equipment through various Buy Board and Good Buy state contracts in an amount not to exceed $169,604 (Director of Public Works)

Council postponed 6-1-0 with 1 absent on November 14, 2017.

Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the purchase of seven (7) pieces of replacement equipment to meet the City’s operating needs by replacing aging rolling stock. The approved FY2018 budget includes funding to replace nine (9) pieces of fleet equipment. The remaining two (2) pieces of equipment are zero-turn mowers that have been quoted and that are under the $50,000 council approval threshold and will be purchased at a later date. Listed below, please find the current list of replacement vehicles needed for council approval:

2001 Ford Bucket Truck (Park Operations) - Good Buy

The total fleet equipment replacement cost totals $169,604, with $74,754.74 being spent with John Deere via Buy Board, and $94,848.90 (including a $300 GoodBuy administrative fee) spent with Silsbee Ford via the Good Buy purchasing co-op. The funding has been approved and is available in the FY2018 budget from the capital replacement fund.
