Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a fourth addendum to the agreement with BFI Waste Services of Texas, LP (dba Republic Services) for waste collection services in League City to extend the agreement ending date by a period of time not to exceed six (6) months and to update the rates of service through the extended term (Assistant City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this item with authorize a fourth addendum to the agreement with BFI Waste Services of Texas, LP (dba Republic Services). The City's current agreement with Republic Services is set to expire January 31, 2018. City Staff is recommending that the City transition from Republic Services to AmeriWaste. AmeriWaste has informed the City that it will need approximately three (3) months to implement its waste collection service.
City staff is recommending that the City Council authorize an extension to the current agreement with Republic Services to allow for a smooth transition. City staff is also recommending that Republic Services' rates be updated to reflect the collections during this extension.
CONTRACT ORIGINATION: Approved by the City Attorney's Office.
