National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Inc. recognition of League City Volunteer Firefighter Steve DeVillier and League City EMS Supervisor Chris Claggett (Mayor Hallisey)

 

Background:

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Inc. is a federally chartered non-profit corporation that describes its purpose as "maintaining and extending the institutions of American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, a respect for our national symbols, and the value of American citizenship”.  Sons of the American Revolution is a patriotic organization.

 

The local chapter goes city to city in their district to recognize volunteers, those who served, and those who lead the community.  This quarter they chose the City of League City as the city in which to look for someone who loves America and has served for our freedom. 

 

League City Volunteer Fire Department Steve DeVillier served in the Navy, as well as twenty plus years in volunteerism with the League City Volunteer Fire Department.  His dedication and contribution to American freedom is without question.

 

EMS Medical Supervisor Chris Claggett has served his community for over 30 years. He began his EMS career in 1986 as a volunteer Emergency Care Attendant with Clear Lake Emergency Medical Corp. In 2002 Chris became a valued part time paramedic with League City EMS, and became full time in 2003. He was promoted to Supervisor in May of 2003, where he has been the B Shift Supervisor since.  Chris has an outstanding attitude towards the citizens of League City and for the medics of B shift. His over 30 years of commitment in EMS represents his respect for our country, community and the City of League City.
