Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the annexation by Galveston County Municipal Utility District No. 45 of 5.04+ acres generally located directly south of the Mar Bella Subdivision, Section 12 (Director of Engineering)

Background:
Approval of this resolution will consent to the annexation by Galveston County Municipal Utility District No. 45 of 5.04+ acres generally located directly south of the Mar Bella Subdivision, Section 12.
· The existing boundaries of the Galveston County Municipal Utility District No. 45 (the “District”) contain approximately 915.3 acres of territory within the League City limits.
· On January 22, 2018, the District’s Board of Directors requested the City consent to have approximately 5+ acres of land annexed into the District. The 5+ acres will be included with the proposed Coastal Point Residential Development This annexation is allowed as noted in the Texas Water Code, Section 49.301.
· According to the attached request petition and City staff discussions with the District’s engineer the proposed annexation:
o Will add a total of 12 homes to the MUD at a value of $3,000,000 ($250,000 per home)
o Will allow the entirety of the Coastal Point Development to be within the MUD boundary
· Pursuant to Ch. 42 of the Texas Local Government Code and Ch. 54 of the Texas Water Code, the District may not add land without the City’s written consent.

Staff recommends City Council approve the resolution consenting to the annexation of land into Galveston County Municipal Utility District No. 45 as requested in the District’s petition.
