Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a contract renewal with Acescapes for City-wide Manicured Mowing Services from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019 in an amount not to exceed $267,906 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Acescapes for City-wide Manicured Mowing Services from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019, in an amount not to exceed $267,906. This will be the final renewal option for the initial contract.
On August 23, 2016, City Council approved a one-year contract with Acespaces Bid# 16-029 for City-wide Manicured Mowing Services from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods, for a not to exceed amount of $234,372. On September 12, 2017, City Council approved a one-year contract renewal with Acescapes for the period October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018, with the option to renew for one (1) additional one-year period, for a not to exceed amount of $257,556.
Staff is requesting an additional $10,350.00 to service eleven (11) additional locations being added to Bid# 16-029 Section C and D. Manicured mowing includes trimming and mulching grass trimmings to improve site appearance at approximately 150 sites throughout the City. The estimates for the eleven (11) additional sites are based on current contract pricing and addresses increased service demands in the following areas: Section C: Newport Station, and Section D: West Walker St - South 646, Bay Area Blvd North of Clear Creek, Ellen Ave, Bishops Bridge and Village Way, Davis Rd, 2094 Marina Bay Dr East of Genco Canal, HWY 3 and Wakefield, HWY 3 and Houston, Five Corners, and Texas Ave and Power.
