Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the acceptance for funding, in the amount of $30,000, from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality through the Houston Galveston Area Council for the Solid Waste Grant (Fire Marshal)
Background:
Approval of this item will allow the Fire Marshal’s Office to receive funding in the amount of $30,000 to implement an illegal dumping enforcement program by means of surveillance cameras. These camera systems will be deployed in identified illegal dumping locations and will aid in the identification of suspects. This funding will allow for the Fire Marshal’s Office to build five covert camera systems along with covering the cost for training for two deputies to become certified to install the camera systems.
