Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the first amendment to the professional services agreement with Burditt Consultants, LLC by providing for additional services for the FM270 Public Boat Ramp Renovation project (CIP# PK1804) and increasing the total compensation by $93,000 (Director of Budget and Project Management)
Background:
Design of this project will be completed in 2 phases for a total of $155,000 to provide design, construction documentation, and construction administration services for the Public Boat Ramp located under the FM 270 bridge. The initial phase consisting of preliminary design, survey, and geotechnical services was approved by Council on May 8th in the amount of $62,000. The remaining $93,000 requested in this item will complete the final design of the project to apply for a Texas Parks & Wildlife grant in October 2018. Staff initially anticipated the final design beginning after the grant was awarded, which is the reason the contract was split into two separate awards. Since the time of the preliminary design award, staff has been informed that Texas Parks and Wildlife would prefer a 90% complete design when the grant application is reviewed, prompting an accelerated design schedule.
