Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement with the Lefors Fire Department for the use of a League City fire truck by the Lefors Fire Department (Fire Chief)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize an interlocal agreement with the Lefors Fire Department for the use of a League City fire truck.
The fire truck in question is currently in reserve status with the League City Fire Department (LCFD). The fire truck is twenty-five years old with 61,753 miles on it. The LCFD does not use the fire truck for operations at this time. The fire truck’s engine and pump are sound.
The fire truck would significantly improve Lefors response capability and its absence would have no impact on LCFD. If not donated to the Lefors Fire Department, this vehicle would be auctioned for an expected value of $10,000 or less.
City staff recommends approval of this Interlocal Agreement.
