Consider and take action on a resolution approving the revised Guidelines for the Installation of Speed Humps in Existing Neighborhoods (Director of Engineering)
Background:
The Guidelines for Installation of Speed Humps was originally approved by City Council in June 1996 and last updated in October 2012. The 2018 update has addressed the following:
• Corrected inconsistencies and spelling mistakes in the 2012 version.
• Added a fee ($300) to cover City costs for the speed study and subsequent report.
• The previous version noted that the City would pay for 50% of the costs associated with the installation of speed humps. This update removes that and makes it clear that the full cost will be borne by the applicant.
Engineering and Public Works - Traffic & Transportation staff recommend approval of this resolution updating the existing Guidelines for the Installation of Speed Humps in Existing Neighborhoods.
