Hold a public hearing regarding assessments against properties in the League City Public Improvement District #1 (Magnolia Creek), Section 5B and the remaining tracts of commercial property (Deputy City Attorney)

Background:

Local government code 372.016 requires a public hearing on proposed assessments. The public improvements funded by the assessments include the construction of water lines, sanitary sewers and drainage, street paving, detention facilities, open space and amenities, master infrastructure facilities, erosion control, as well as engineering, contingency provisions, financing, and administrative costs.

GENERAL NATURE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS: The public improvements benefitting the Phase 5B, Commercial and Lighthouse properties within the District include the construction of water lines, sanitary sewers, storm sewers and drainage, street paving, detention facilities, open space and amenities, master infrastructure facilities, erosion control, as well as engineering, contingency provisions, financing, and administrative costs.

COST OF IMPROVEMENTS: $1,495,799.13

BOUNDARIES OF PHASE 5B, COMMERCIAL AND LIGHTHOUSE PROPERTIES: The Phase 5B boundaries are described in the Final Plat of Magnolia Creek Phase 5B, being 13.86 Acres out of the I & G.N.R.R Survey, Section 1, Abstract No. 607 and J.R. Coryell Survey, Abstract 660, City of League City, Galveston County, Texas, 30 Lots, 2 Blocks, 2 Restricted Reserves. The Commercial property boundaries are described as Magnolia Creek Shopping Village (2008) Abst 607, Block 1, Lot 1, Acres 11.848. The Lighthouse property boundaries are described as Lighthouse at Brittany Bay (2007) Abst 9, Block 1, Lot A, Acres 1.86

The proposed assessment roll was filed with the City Secretary and was made available for public inspection as required by Chapter 372.

Notice of the public hearing was mailed to the last known addresses of the property owners and published in the Galveston Daily News on January 30, 2019.
