Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the submission of application to the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office - FY2019 State Homeland Security Grant Program for the purchase of equipment and electronics for the custom Fire/Arson and Explosions Investigation/Command Trailer and authorizing Assistant City Manager Michael Kramm to accept such a grant if awarded (Fire Chief)

 

Background:

Approval of this item will allow the Fire Marshal’s Office to apply for the purchase of equipment and electronics to outfit the 26-foot custom Fire/Arson and Explosions Investigation Trailer that is in the process of being purchased through the Office of the Governor - Homeland Security Grant Division 2019 State Homeland Security Program.  The proposed funding of $131,230 for the project would be 100% funded through the FY2019 Homeland Security Grant Program, if awarded.

 

The equipment and electronics that the Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking assistance in funding will include, but not be limited to: radio communication equipment, PTZ camera equipment, audio video recording equipment, roof mounted air conditioning unit, 30’ pneumatic mast, computer and network equipment, a weather station, storage cabinets, televisions, electronic trailer stabilizers, and electronic awnings on each side of the trailer. The purchase and installation of this equipment will allow for 26-foot command and investigations trailer to be utilized to its fullest capacity.
