Presentation of the League City Police Department’s Annual Racial Profiling Report for CY2018 (Chief of Police)

 

Background:

This annual report contains three sections that present information on citation-based contact data, along with documentation which demonstrates that the League City Police Department has complied with The Texas Racial Profiling Law.  Section 1 contains the table of contents and the Texas Law on Racial Profiling.

 

Section 1 also provides a list of requirements relevant to the Racial Profiling Law as established by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Sections 2 and 3 contain documentation which demonstrates compliance by the League City Police Department with the Texas Racial Profiling Law. Section 2 and 3 also include documents relevant to the implementation of an institutional policy banning racial profiling, the implementation of a racial profiling complaint process (including the manner in which it has been disclosed to the public) and the training administered to all law enforcement personnel.

 

This report provides statistical data relevant to motor vehicle contacts between 01/01/18 and 12/31/18. Motor vehicle contact data from 2018 has been analyzed using employee intrapopulation comparisons, search rates, and outcome results across race categories. The final analysis and recommendations are also included.
