Recognition of the 2018 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation League City Male and Female Athletes of the Year (Mayor Hallisey)
Background:
Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and the City of League City have the opportunity to recognize one male and female athlete from each affiliated City based on their character and achievements throughout the year. Those athletes are eligible to advance to regional and state athlete of the year recognitions. Due to their success in 2018, the Recreation Department would like to recognize Analeigh Guajardo and Joshua Dwyer as the 2018 Female and Male League City Athletes of the Year.
Analeigh, age 8, demonstrates many qualities that coaches love when on the basketball court. She has a competitive spirit, displays excellent sportsmanship, is a great defensive player, great scorer, and always displays a positive attitude. She handles herself like a true professional in victory or defeat and is an absolute joy to watch play. The Recreation Department is proud to recognize Analeigh Guajardo as the 2018 TAAF League City Female Athlete of the Year.
Joshua, age 12, has been playing youth basketball since age 9. He is the true definition of a leader, often helping his teammates that are less skilled than he is. He gives 100% effort in every game he plays and leads his team in both assists and scoring. He also excels in his education, receiving the President's award for his schoolwork. The Recreation Department is proud to recognize Joshua Dwyer as the 2018 TAAF League City Male Athlete of the Year.
