Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a second agreement amendment with Jones & Carter for the Bay Colony Lift Station and Force Main Upgrade projects (WW1206), in the amount of $87,730.00 (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
If approved, this resolution will authorize will provide additional design phase, bid phase, and construction phase engineering services required to updated and redesign the lift station.
The project includes the expansion of the lift station from 3,200 gpm to 3,958 gpm based on findings from the League City’s 2018 Wastewater Master Plan. The scope of services includes, but not limited to, rehabilitation of the existing 10-feet diameter wet well, demolition of existing mechanical equipment, piping, valves, and electrical equipment, and construction of a new concrete top slab.
Jones & Carter’s original fee for the force main design and construction phase services was $187,600.00 and the first agreement amendment was $58,000.00. Jones & Carter’s second amendment request is for an additional $87,730.00 to modify the Lift Station project scope. The scope of work for the Force Main Upgrade will not change with this amendment. This negotiated fee is considered reasonable.
