Consider and take action on a resolution amending Resolutions 2019-01, 2019-18, 2019-35, 2019-37, 2019-42 and 2019-43 to add language that clarifies the City will repay any lost or misused grant funding and the City will provide matching funding if required by the specified grant program (Assistant City Manager)
Background:
The City routinely applies for various grants from the Office of Governor. As part of the grant application process, city staff seeks formal authorization from the City Council to submit the grant application to the Office of the Governor.
Recently, grant administrators from two different grant programs have requested that city staff add some specific clauses to the grant resolutions. Specifically, city staff was asked to add language that clarifies the City will repay any lost or misused grant funding and the City will provide matching funding if required by the specified grant program.
Since the grant resolutions are official government documents, city staff requests City Council approval to add the required language.
To avoid any further issues or delays, city staff is also seeking authorization to add this same language to the grant resolutions of all pending grant applications with the Officer of the Governor. The Office of the Governor has approved this new resolution language.
