Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Sander Engineering Corp for the design and construction phase services related to the South Shore Harbour Ground Storage Tank Rehab as part of the City’s Annual Water System Rehab Project (WT1802B) in an amount not to exceed $109,850.00 (Director of Budget and Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize funding for the professional services agreement with Sander Engineering Corp for the design and construction phase services related to the rehabilitation and coating of the two (2) older ground storage tanks at the intersection of Louisiana Ave and FM518.
Design of the South Shore Harbour Ground Storage Tank Rehab was budgeted in the FY2019 CIP at $60,000. The increase in design fees are based on estimated effort and the addition of specialized inspection services. These services are recommended to ensure superior work quality associated with the key elements of a ground storage tank coating project. These elements include, but are not limited too; surface preparation, post blast inspection of metal thickness, proper structural repair quality (welds), & coating product and application verification. This level of site monitoring and inspection services are typically above what is expected form internal construction inspections. The increase is funded from construction of the Third Street Ground Storage Tank Rehab coming in underbudget.
