Consider and take action on a resolution requesting that the Texas Transportation Commission take any and all actions necessary to complete the traffic revenue study, land acquisition, design, and ultimately construction activities for "Segment B" of State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway) located in League City, Texas and surrounding areas (City Manager)
Background:
The Texas Department of Transportation, under direction of the Texas Transportation Commission, continues to design and construct “Segment B” of State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway). With the Texas Transportation Commission completing the development of the 2020 Unified Transportation Plan, a renewed push is being launched to gain support to complete the traffic revenue study, land acquisition, design, and ultimately construction activities for “Segment B” of State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway). We would like for TxDOT to include SH99 (Grand Parkway) in the proposed Unified Transportation Plan.
The City of Alvin has requested support in approaching the Transportation Commission at their July 25, 2019 meeting in the form of a resolution at the meeting if possible.
