Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Meyer Engineers, Ltd for the design and construction phase services related to the League City Parkway at Walker Street Intersection Improvements (ST1913) in an amount not to exceed $275,567 (Director of Budget and Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize funding for the professional services agreement with Meyer Engineers, Ltd for the design and construction phase services related to League City Parkway at Walker Street Intersection Improvements Project. This project is funded with 2018 Galveston Co Bonds and Meyer Engineers, Ltd were selected by the County per the interlocal agreement. Supplemental funding from League City will be required for construction to fully implement the improvements listed below as additional scope was added above what's listed in the interlocal agreement.
As detailed in the interlocal agreement, the scope of this project is to:
Correct cross grading issues through the intersection
Extend the Eastbound to Northbound left turn lane
Install a new right turn lane for Eastbound to Southbound traffic
And also listed in the interlocal agreement if funding allows is the following scope:
Extend the Westbound to South bound left turn lane
Install a new right turn lane for Northbound to Eastbound traffic
League City has requested the design include scope to:
Install a new right turn lane for Southbound to Westbound traffic
The majority of funding for the design and construction of this project will be provided through an interlocal agreement with Galveston County, which will also cover improvements to the SH96/SH3 intersection and a new right turn lane at I45 along SH96. Supplemental funding from League City will be required for construction to fully implement the improvements listed below as additional scope was added above what's listed in the interlocal agreement.
