Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement with the City of Friendswood for partnership in the Lower Clear Creek and Dickinson Bayou Watershed Study and authoring future interlocal agreements with any additional governmental entities or agencies for partnership in this Study (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the execution of a interlocal agreement with the City of Friendswood which would afford League City $40,220 in partnership funding towards the Lower Clear Creek and Dickinson Bayou Watershed Study.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Council directed staff to lead an effort to develop some alternatives to address flooding in the lower Clear Creek/Clear Lake watershed. We recognize this is a regional watershed and overlaps several jurisdictions in the area. We have worked with Freese-Nichols and the Army Corp of engineers to develop a comprehensive scope of services and have begun the effort to formalize agreements with funding partners for this nearly $1.5 million effort.

CONTRACT ORIGINATION: Interlocal Agreement with City of Friendswood has been reviewed and approved by City Attorney's office. The template Interlocal Agreement for subsequent governmental entities was drafted by the City Attorney's Office.
FUNDING
{x} Revenue of $40,220 will be deposited to Misc Capital Projects Fund 5015, Reimbursement Account 5015-44540.
