Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year renewal agreement with Semper Striping, LLC for roadway markings on-call in an amount not to exceed $130,000 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a one-year renewal agreement with Semper Striping, LLC for installation of roadway markings on-call from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020 in an amount not to exceed $130,000 with two (2) additional one-year renewal options remaining.
On October 9, 2018, City Council approved a one-year agreement with Semper Striping, LLC Bid# 18-048 for roadway markings on-call from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019 in an amount not to exceed $110,000 with the option to renew for three (3) additional one-year periods.
The City Manager approved a first amendment to the agreement on July 17, 2019 at staff’s request for an additional $20,000, for a total not to exceed amount of $130,000, to complete roadway markings at three additional locations; Brookport Dr. from FM 646 to Big League Dreams, Lighthouse Blvd from Marina Bay to Palm Cove Ln, and Tuscan Lakes Blvd from SH 96 to Austin Blvd.
The quantities are just an estimate used to approximate the total work required. The work will be paid based on specific work orders and the unit prices for completion of work. The work orders will be developed throughout the year based on needs. Each individual work order may include multiple locations. Examples of proposed FY20 work orders would include, but not be limited to, the remarking of: Landing Blvd (518 to 96), Brookport Dr. (646 to Big League Dreams), Westover (96 to Maple Leaf), Kesslers Crossing (W. Walker to W. Walker), Tuscan Lakes Blvd (96 to 646), Bishops Bridge (S. Shore to Village Way), Village Way (Mar Bella Pkwy to Bishops Bridge), Lawrence Rd (96 to Village Way), West Walker (96 to 646), and League City Pkwy (Maple Leaf to Bay Area).
