Title
Hold a public hearing on amendments to the Code of Ordinances of the City of League City amending Chapter 125, entitled “Zoning”, regarding 1) Stacking, queuing, and drive through regulations; 2) residential definitions and uses; 3) land use regulations for non-retail sales tax generating uses; 4) nonconforming regulations; 5) accessory structure regulations; 6) mobile food vendor regulations; and 7) short term rentals (Executive Director of Development Services)

Background:
A public hearing is required to consider the proposed text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.

Project Timeline:

March 12, 2019 - David Hoover, Director of Planning and Development, gave a presentation to City Council about upcoming ordinance amendments in a workshop.
June 25, 2019 - David Hoover, Director of Planning and Development, gave a presentation to City Council concerning ordinance amendments in a workshop.
September 3, 2019 - The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing and made a recommendation of approval, 7-0-0 with one member absent.
September 24, 2019 -City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing and consider the request on first reading.

Project Summary:
The proposed ordinance changes include updating, adding, and removing regulations within the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed changes consist of the following:

1. Create regulations related to stacking and queuing, and revise regulations related to drive-through facilities.
2. Create a definition for industrialized housing.
3. Remove the requirement for a Special Use Permit for non-retail sales tax generating uses along major thoroughfares.
4. Revise nonconforming regulations.
5. Revise accessory structure regulations.
6. Create regulations related to mobile food vendors (food trucks).
7. Create regulations related to short term rentals.

On September 3, 2019, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing and recommended approval by a vote of 7-0-0 with one member absent.
