Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an agreement with Hahn Equipment Co., Inc., for the purchase of one (1) 185HP FLYGT electric submersible sewage pump for the Dallas Salmon Wastewater Treatment Plant in an amount not to exceed $120,510 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the purchase of one (1) FLYGT 185 HP electric submersible sewage pump model CP3312, 460-volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz motor, 530mm impeller, with 40’ of 7 conductor SPC cable and pilot cable for the Dallas Salmon Wastewater Treatment Plant (DSWWTP) in an amount not to exceed $120,510.
The new pump replaces one of four existing FLYGT 185 HP submersible sewage pumps serving the DSWWTP Lift Station. Two of the four existing pumps from the original 1997 installation were scheduled for replacement in the current Capital Improvement Plan. The first pump was replaced in FY2018; this purchase addresses the second pump which is 22-years old and has surpassed its expected service life. This replacement activity is part of the approved FY2019 Capital Improvement Plan.
Improved design features will increase operations and performance efficiencies, as well as provide the reliability needed to assist in the prevention of sanitary sewer overflows. The DSWWTP lift station collects and conveys approximately 80 percent of the City’s daily wastewater flow.
