Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a fourth amendment to the professional services agreement with Jackson & Ryan Architects for the League City Animal Care and Adoption Center Project (PD1502) to perform additional engineering design and construction phase services, in an amount not to exceed $13,975 (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
If approved, this resolution will authorize a fourth amendment with Jackson & Ryan Architects to perform additional engineering design and construction phase services, in an amount not to exceed $13,975.
On June 27, 2017, Council approved a professional services agreement with Jackson & Ryan Architects to perform engineering design and construction phase serves related to the League City Animal Care and Adoption Center Project in the amount of $650,000. On February 14, 2019, the contract was amended to allow for additional rendering services, in which three 3D renderings were produced for utilization during the project’s ground-breaking ceremony, in an amount not to exceed $4,560. On February 14, 2019, the second amendment was executed to allow for additional design services to extend the Multi-Purpose room and add a Catio, in an amount not to exceed $27,590. On June 3, 2019, the third amendment was executed to allow for additional design services to enlarge the Catio by 210 square feet, in an amount not to exceed $13,420. The current contract totals $695,570.
This fourth amendment is coming before Council for approval as amendments 1 through 3 total $45,570 and adding amendment 4 at $13,975 increases the cumulative total of amendments to $59,545.
Amendment four will authorize additional design and construction phase services associated with the addition of donor wall and a monument sign. The donor wall will be an approximate 50-feet long, 6-feet 4-inches high decorate concrete masonry wall located in the outdoor garden. The donor wall will allow for future donor plaques to be mounted. The monument wall be a 13-feet 4-inches wide and 5-feet high decorative concrete masonry wall with a video display board mounted above. Structural foundations and reinforcing of both elements, illumination of the monument sign, and power for the video display board are included.
