Consider and take action on a resolution awarding a construction contract to Corrosion Eliminators, LLC for the South Shore Harbor Ground Storage Tank Rehab Project (WT1802B) in an amount not to exceed $569,668 and authorizing an additional $57,000 for a construction work change directive budget for a total construction budget of $626,668 (Director of Budget and Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of a construction contract with Corrosion Eliminators, LLC in the amount of $569,668 for the South Shore Harbor Ground Storage Tank Rehab Project (WT1802B) and authorizing an additional $57,000 for a construction work change directive budget for a total construction budget.
This project is programmed as part of the City’s Annual Water System Improvements Project which provides maintenance to repair and prolong the life of existing facilities. This project addresses the interior and exterior coating on the two 1,000,000-gallon ground storage tanks located at the intersection of Louisiana Ave and FM518. The project will provide new interior and exterior coating and repair any structural issues that are discovered during the process.

FUNDING
{X} Funding in the amount of $626,668 is available from 2015 CO Fund 1335 ($225,000) with expenses charged to project expense string WT1802B-CONSTRUCT-CONSTRUCT-2015CO W/WW and Misc Utility Capital Projects fund 1055 ($401,668) with expenses charged to project expense string WT1802B-CONSTRUCT-CONSTRUCT-RS CASH.
