Background:
If approved, this item will authorize a construction contract with Matula & Matula Construction, Inc. for construction associated with the Waterford Harbor Lift Stations 1 & 2 Rehab project (WW1901B).

The Waterford Harbor Lift Stations 1 & 2 Rehab project (WW1901B) is part of the City’s annual program to rehab aged lift stations. The existing two lift stations were constructed in or around 1986 as part of the Waterford Harbor development located off of FM2094 in the far northeastern area of the City. These lift stations are in need of rehabilitation due to their overall deteriorated condition.

In general, the project consists of the replacement of pumps, new electrical controls, replacement of corroded piping, fence replacement and the coating of the wet well to prevent deterioration of the concrete walls. Six sealed bids for the project were received February 11, 2020 (Bid No. 20-CIP-010). Matula & Matula Construction, Inc. submitted the lowest, responsible, bid in the amount of $678,480. Attached is the City' s engineering consultant' s recommendation of award, along with the bid tabulation.

This project is anticipated to take 210 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

Construction was budgeted at $825,000.
