Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a construction contract with R Construction Civil, LLC for the 16-Inch Waterline from South Shore Harbour Booster Pump Station to FM 2094 project (WT1909) in an amount not to exceed $713,647.20 and authorizing an expenditure of an additional $71,364 for a construction work change directive budget (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of a construction contract to R Construction Civil, LLC for the 16-Inch Waterline from South Shore Harbour Booster Pump Station to FM 2094 project (WT1909) in the amount of $713,647.20 and authorize funds for a construction work change directive budget of $71,364.
The project includes approximately 3,800 linear feet of 16-inch waterline that will run from South Shore Harbour Booster Pump Station to FM 2094. This new waterline is intended to increase the system capacity, improve hydraulic efficiencies, provide redundancy, and improve pressure capabilities to the South Shore Harbour service area.
This waterline project is time sensitive. The contract must coordinate with the TxDOT FM 518 Bypass Hike and Bike project (PK1104). A bike trail is scheduled for bidding in the month of May 2020, with construction beginning in July 2020. This waterline must be installed prior to the construction of the bike trail.
There were 16 sealed bids for this project that were received on April 29, 2020 (Bid No.20-CIP-016). R Construction Civil, LLC submitted the effective lowest bid, based on the A+B bidding system, in the amount of $713,647.20. Attached is the City engineering consultant’s recommendation of award, along with the bid tabulation.
This project is anticipated to take 70 calendar days from the notice to proceed.
