Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission's Interlibrary Loan Lending Reimbursement Program Grant for partial reimbursements for direct costs associated with participating in statewide resource sharing in FY2020 (Director of Parks and Cultural Services)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the Helen Hall Library to apply for funding to seek partial reimbursement for direct costs, such as postage, materials processing costs, courier fees, and staff time, which were incurred from participating in statewide resource sharing during FY2020. Through this grant program, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission helps support a statewide interlibrary loan program to assure Texans have access to shared library resources to meet their learning and information needs.
Awards for reimbursement vary each year and are based on the number of lends provided to other Texas libraries, the total number of participating libraries, and available funding. The proposed award is estimated at $6,000-$9,000 and no matching funds from the City are required.
