Consider and take action on a resolution to ratify the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund Grant Approval Application for EMS (Fire Chief)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize submission of grant paperwork required for completion of distribution already received for projected revenue lost related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
EMS was notified on April 16, 2020 that the Department of Health and Human Services would be making an automatic distribution of $ 40,758.27 from the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund directly to the City of League City as a medical provider that bills for Medicare bill-for-service. The distribution was received on April 17, 2020 and will be deposited into the COVID19 CARES Act grant account in the General Fund. The amount was based on the City of League City’s share of Medicare fee-for service reimbursements in 2019 and is for the incurred revenue loss of Medicare reimbursements related to the COVID-19 pandemic for both March 2020 and April 2020. The total projected amount of loss for March and April 2020 is $56,000.00.
