Title:

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement with UTMB to provide COVID19 testing for League City service and hospitality business employees to be paid with CARES Coronavirus Relief Funds. (Emergency Management Coordinator)

Background:

Council approval of this interlocal agreement will provide regular testing for employees of League City service and hospitality businesses.

Employees of service and hospitality businesses located in League City will be able to test at a pre-determined UTMB facility at a cost of $100 per test.  UTMB will attempt to bill the individual’s insurance first.  If no insurance is available, the City will pay the cost for the test.  UTMB will be allocating up to 100 tests per day for this service.

All testing will be paid for through CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund initial allocation or reimbursement.  If 100 uninsured employees of service and hospitality business were tested per day five days a week for three months the cost would be $600,000.  The proposed interlocal agreement has a not to exceed amount of $1,500,00.00.
