Consider and take action on a resolution rejecting all bids received for RFP 20-PW-009 Uniform Rental Services for Various Departments (Director of Finance)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize staff to reject all bids received in response to for Request for Proposal (RFP) 20-PW-009 Uniform Rental Services for Various Departments.
The City issued the RFP for uniform services on June 15, 2020 While waiting for proposals, Staff identified possible alternative uniform options for the smaller departments within the organization. With the incumbent vendor being the only respondent to the RFP, Staff would like to take the opportunity to explore these options that could provide long-term cost savings for the City. Staff recommends renewing the current contract for FY2021, rather than entering into the three-year agreement specified in the RFP. This will provide Staff the additional time needed to ensure best use of City funds for uniforms.
