Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year agreement with Thirkettle Corporation D/B/A Aqua-Metric Sales Company for various water meters and supplies in an amount not to exceed $394,870 (Director of Finance)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the annual purchase of water meters for new accounts and parts for existing meters for the 2021 fiscal year. Meter purchase, maintenance, and installation is an ongoing function as new home and business construction continues throughout League City. Staff recommends the purchase of meters that are compatible with the City's system from the sole source vendor Aqua Metric.
The products offered match our existing brand of equipment for compatibility. Aqua Metric Sales Company is the only authorized distributor of Sensus products and services in Texas; therefore, this purchase is exempt from the competitive bidding statutes in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252. Aqua Metrics Sales Company is also a member of the HGAC Cooperative Purchasing Program.
