Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. for design work related to the 3rd Street Asphalt Rehabilitation CDBG Project (RE1704G) in an amount not to exceed $71,170 (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of a professional services agreement with HR Green to perform the engineering design, bid and construction phase services related to the reconstruction of 3rd Street Asphalt Rehabilitation CDBG Project (RE1704G).
The purpose of this project is to perform road base repairs and asphalt resurfacing as part of an annual infrastructure reinvestment program. This project includes 3rd Street between N. Wisconsin and Alabama. This project is part of the City’s reinvestment of CDBG funds into the community.
In an effort to continue maximizing the Reinvestment dollars invested each year, staff is proposing to design approximately 2,680 linear feet of mill repair and overlay for this project. Preliminary construction cost for 3rd Street Asphalt Rehabilitation is $532,044.59.
HR Green has submitted a proposal to perform the engineering design and construction phase services not to exceed $71,170, which includes the following:
1. Design Phase $ 42,894
2. Bid-Phase Services $ 5,100
3. Construction Phase Services $ 8,570
4. Geotechnical Study $ 3,960
5. Surveying $ 9,746
6. Miscellaneous Expenses $ 900
Total $ 71,170
Design is proposed at 187 days. Construction of 3rd Street is programmed in the CIP in FY2022 as part of the Asphalt Rehabilitation Project Package 6 with an inclusive budget of $2.2 million.
