Consider and take action on an ordinance authorizing a boundary adjustment agreement with the City of Friendswood so that 0.0576 acres of land, which is located in League City, Texas and has a width of less than 1,000 feet, will be located in the city limits of Friendswood (Executive Director of Development)

Background:
The City of Friendswood ("Friendswood") and the City of League City ("League City") are neighboring municipalities that currently share common boundaries. Friendswood owns a 0.0576 parcel of land that is less than 1,000 in width, upon which a portion of Friendswood Lakes Boulevard will be constructed. The 0.0576 acre tract will be under Friendswood Lakes Boulevard once construction is complete.
Friendswood has requested that League City release the 0.0576 acre tract of land so that the entire project will be in the city limits of Friendswood.
The Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 43.015, authorizes adjacent municipalities to make mutually agreeable changes in their boundaries for areas that are less than 1,000 feet in width. The purpose of these changes in boundaries is to promote orderly development, public safety, and effective delivery of municipal services.
