Presentation of a proclamation declaring May 2-8, 2021 as Public Service Recognition Week (Mayor Hallisey)
Background:
Celebrated the first week of May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is organized annually by the Public Employees Roundtable (PER) and its member organizations, to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees. Throughout the country, mayors, governors, agency leaders, communities and public service organizations participate in PSRW by issuing proclamations; hosting award ceremonies and special tribute events; and delivering messages about the value of public service.
This is League City’s third year to acknowledge and recognize our employees beginning with issuing a proclamation recognizing Public Service Recognition Week for the week of May 2-8, 2021.
The activities will kick off with the League City employee picnic, where employees will enjoy wonderful food, great games, and fun times. Other activities planned for Public Service Recognition Week include an employee appreciation breakfast catered by one of our favorite League City restaurants, as well as an employee lunch featuring some of our local food trucks. Finally, the much acclaimed ice cream truck will be making it's rounds to various public service work locations in League City.
