Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a construction contract with Ardent Construction, LLC for the Hike & Bike Trails Wayfinding Phase One Project (PK1701), in the amount of $144,320, authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $14,432 for a work change directive budget, for a total construction budget of $158,752 (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of the construction contract to Ardent Construction, LLC for the construction of the Hike & Bike Trails Wayfinding Phase One Project and authorize funds for a construction work change directive budget for a total construction budget of $158,752.
This project is to construct and install phase one of a trail wayfinding system consisting of pressure laminate panels with stainless steel framing and concrete footings.
The purpose of this project is to further increase the connectivity of the City trail system and standardize the City’s trail system signage.
This project was advertised on March 16, 2021 and four (4) sealed bids were received on April 20, 2021 (Bid No. 21-023). Bid analysis was based on A+B bidding, which factors time plus cost to determine the lowest equivalent bid. Ardent Construction, LLC submitted a base bid in the amount of $144,320 and 90 days. The consultant’s recommendation of award and the bid tabulation are attached.
