Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc. for design services related to the TxDOT Median Improvement Project (RE2101) in an amount not to exceed $450,000 (Executive Director of Development Services)
Background:
The City of League City is partnering with TxDOT to provide landscape improvements along the major TxDOT corridors within League City. This will be a multi-phased project consisting of TxDOT corridor landscape improvements with a total estimated construction cost of $6,624,800.
The estimated cost for the landscape improvements include:
· Medians along FM 518 (From Five Corners to Eastern City Limits), FM 646, SH 96, FM 2094 ($3,264,800)
· IH 45 corridor ($1,706,000)
· IH 45 detention ponds ($1,230,000)
· Entry features (assumes 4 signs + landscape) ($424,000)
All proposed improvements will be funded by TxDOT. The only costs incurred by the City are the design and construction fees from Pacheco Koch. The scope of services with Pacheco Koch will include the conceptual design, the plans, specifications, and estimates, and bid and construction phase services. Upon completion of the project and the 2-year maintenance/warranty period, League City will be responsible for maintenance.
Conceptual Design
Pacheco Koch will provide conceptual design services for the landscape improvement areas noted above. This will include several meetings, work sessions, and the development of conceptual layouts for the City to choose from.
Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E)
Pacheco Koch will design the landscape, irrigation, and entry sign plans for up to three bid packages. These plans will be submitted to the City and to TxDOT for review and approval.
Bid and Construction Phase Services
