Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing renewal of a five-year interlocal agreement with Johnson Space Center for reciprocal use of emergency operation centers and equipment staging in NASA’s hangar at Ellington Field during a disaster (Emergency Management Coordinator)
Background
Approval of this item will allow the city to renew an agreement between the City and Johnson Space Center with a term of five years. The agreement is between Bay Area Emergency Responders, of which the city is a signatory, and JSC.
This agreement provides for reciprocal use of emergency operations centers in the event of an isolated failure and an agreement for space at Ellington Field and/or JSC for equipment and personnel during a tropical storm/hurricane/or other emergency.
